It’s a moment of cognitive dissonance: As I head to Staples to pick up piles of new stuff for my children’s new school terms, I’m also thinking about how this can be a year of meaningful climate learning and action for my kids and other kids in NYC and around the country.

Climate Families NYC - they hold fun demonstrations in NYC that are friendly to people wiht small children
Moms Clean Air Force - 1.5 million strong, a dozen state chapters, lobbying for changes in laws to reduce pollution and carbon emissions
Mothers Out Front - national, regional and local campaigns
Our Kids Climate - they do “microgrants” for your own intergenerational project, and have a strong global network
