Hello friends.

There is an insane amount of news as always, but I decided this week to focus on the bill that just passed the House. Some are calling it the #MAGAMurderBudget.

This is the President’s entire legislative agenda. It probably needs to pass the Senate before the recess that starts August 1. There are chances for changes before then, which means calling Senators, especially Republican Senators, especially the 20 Republicans who are up for re-election next time— Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Maine.

Here’s what’s in the Murder Budget:

1. ROBBERY Take food from poor children and take away millions of people’s healthcare

2.FILTH More expensive energy and dirtier air

3.VIOLENCE Multiple billions for masked thugs who grab people off the street; enough $ to put 100,000 people in concrete cells with no due process whatsoever

4.HATE Attack healthcare for anyone who’s not a cisgender man

and of course, more money for rich people.

Before you go: On Friday, May 16 a tornado hit St Louis, leaving a path of devastation that was more than 20 miles long. It destroyed the home of Shewona Ford, a single mother with 7 children under the age of 12. This family lost everything--clothes, beds, important documents, and even their cats.

They are staying in shelters and motels, living day to day. Anything will help!

They need shelter, food, clothes, hygiene products.

I wrote about this family for NPR in 2021 and I have met them in person-- please help if you can.
