This reminds me of a question I've asked different communities: Check in with your top 2 responses of:

- Fight / Energized: Taking action

- Flight / Scared: Wanting to escape

- Freeze / Anxious about next steps: Physical / mental immobility

- Fawn / Conflict avoidance: People-pleasing

- Flop / Faint: Overwhelmed, low energy

Thank you for sharing! It can feel hard to talk about this because we don’t want to spread despair or be “too depressing” but I think it is important to acknowledge how we feel even though we also want to be hopeful and to keep working towards something better.

Thank you for putting into eloquent words much of the grief and anxiety I've been feeling since the start of the month. It feels good to belong somewhere on the emotional spectrum of processing these ultra-rapid changes in politics.

Your tears are sacred and releasing them frees us all! I dream of a world where weeping is not a sign of something being wrong but an acknowledgment of our shared humanity and how much we love the world...lets keep going and keep crying and keep fighting they all can and need to happen at once

Oh gosh yes. It's normal to be feeling despair, and we all need to allow ourselves some time to sit with that discomfort. The trick is finding a way to also find time for joy and connection every day. I'm struggling, but I'm trying.

There is a time to sit with crappy feelings and a time to move other feelings forward. Hope you find a balance that works for you.
